Λουτράκι Φανερωμένη – Ηραίον
Μπάνιο σε αρχαιολογικό χώρο… γίνεται; Γίνεται, στο ιερό της Ήρας Ακραίας-Λιμενίας. Η λατρεία στο ιερό πάνω στη θάλασσα, ξεκίνησε στη γεωμετρική περίοδο και το 800 π.Χ. κτίστηκε εκεί ο πρώτος αψιδωτός ναός της Ήρας, από τον οποίο δε σώζεται τίποτα. Τον 6ο αιώνα π.Χ. κτίστηκε καινούργιος ναός δωρικού ρυθμού λίγο πιο δυτικά και δίπλα του επιμήκης βωμός. Πάνω από τον μικρό όρμο, με τα κρύα και βαθιά νερά που το καλοκαίρι γεμίζει τουρίστες, υπάρχει το εκκλησάκι του Αγίου Ιωάννη.
Loutraki Faneromeni – Iraion
Can you imagine how does it feel to swim in an archaeological site? Well, you can experience it yourselves by visiting the sanctuary of Ira Akraias-Limenias. The worship on the sea began in the Geometrical era; in 800 b.C. the first vaulted shrine of Ira was built there –unfortunately nothing remains intact nowadays. During the 6th century b.C. a new shrine of Dorian order was built right next to the old one. The chapel of Agios Ioannis oversees the small bay with the cold and deep waters that fills with tourists every summer.top
